The SETON
Healthcare Network manages the publicly owned
hospital through an historic lease agreement with
the City of Austin. Brackenridge Hospital is the
only Level II Trauma Facility serving the Central
Texas area and is an accredited Teaching Hospital
affiliated with UTMB Galveston. The facility has
been recognized as one of the nation's top 100
hospitals five times: 1996, 2001, 2002, 2003 and
2006.
This is the
Hospital within a hospital and is located on the
5th floor of Brackenridge. The primary reason for
building this hospital is to provide tubal
sterilization to the patients who request it
although uncomplicated patients may also deliver at
AWH. Special badge access is required to access
those floors from the main elevators. The elevators
in the sky-walk may also be used to obtain
access.

High Risk OBstetrics(HROB) takes place on M/Tu/Th mornings.
Gyn clinic takes place weekday afternoons.
Sonography clinic takes place Wednesdsay morning and afternoon.
Colposcopy(Colpo) clinic takes place Tuesday afternoons.
Non-stress test(NST) clinic takes place Friday mornings.
High Risk OBstetrics(HROB) takes place on M/Tu/Th mornings.
Gyn clinic takes place weekday afternoons.
Sonography clinic takes place Wednesdsay morning and afternoon.
Colposcopy(Colpo) clinic takes place Tuesday afternoons.
Non-stress test(NST) clinic takes place Friday mornings.
East Austin
is one of five community health centers that
contracts with our department. The clinics
typically provide routine prenatal care and basic
well women screening exams while referring more
complicated patients to HROB and Gyn clinic
respectively. Directions
are
available in your handbook.
Students may
participate in surgery cases at Seton Main
(typically when working with the Oncology Service).
Seton Main is located at 1201 West 38th Street.
UTMB has arranged for students to have free parking
at the Wabash garage though oftentimes students
will park at Bailey Square.
