This will be evaluated by our Faculty Physicians, the Fellows, and OB/Gyn residents. All of these evaluations are included in the final grade tally. Again, it strongly recommended that you review the expectations associated with each rotation. This accounts for 35% of your grade.

This is the national standardized test based on the APGO-CREOG Learning Objectives learning objectives for Third-Year Medical Students. This accounts for 40% of your grade.
Students are required to submit ONE patient H&P. The H&P may be of a Gyn or Obstetric patient, but should include a thorough differential diagnosis. Students must remove identifying information such as name or MR. Students may also submit the H&P in word .doc format; however students are NOT to use preprinted forms.
Students are also required to give a formal verbal presentation to Dr. Shettigar. This is usually done during mid rotation meetings. They may present the same patient used in the written H&P. The presentation should last no longer than 10 minutes and the student may not use any notes/handouts/radiology reports.
Following the presentation, the student will be quizzed upto 10 minutes on topics related to his presentation.
Accounts for 25% of your grade. Your individual performance accounts for 1/3rd of this, and your team's performance 2/3rds. Students will typically take 2-3 TL quizzes over the rotation.
The OB/Gyn rotation has a list of required skills that should be done during this rotation. While it does not directly affect your grade, you are required to submit a card to complete the rotation. If you are missing certain skills, Dr. Shettigar will assign extra reading or tasks as a substitution.

The following list must be turned in
by the end of the rotation:

1) Skills Achievements card
(both sides filled)
2) One H&P
3) Suturing/Knot Tying Equipment
4) Team Learning CD
5) Call room key

Failure to turn in the above items
will lead to an incomplete grade.
Please email or leave these items with Nicole.
